Coast/Beach
The beach is at the bottom of the hill and is a 1 minute drive or a 7 minute walk. It stretches some 8km and is a level walk from beginning to end. Water sports and scuba diving are available on Mojacar Playa. On Garrucha and Mojacar beaches you can play five a side football and volley ball. Beach bars/restaurants are also available along these areas. Garrucha beach in particular is suitable for young children, having small slides/swings/roundabouts and the sand is cleaned daily.
Golf
There are all the expected golf facilities including club house, driving range etc. at the Marina de la Torre Golf Course which is the nearest golf course at only 500 metres walk away (you can dine at the clubhouse if you wish). Desert Springs, Valle del Este, Cortijo Grande golf courses are all within very easy reach. There is also a driving range 500 metres away.
Travel
Almeria airport - 40 minutes drive.
Alicante airport - 1 hour 45 minutes drive.
Murcia airport - 1 hour 10 minutes drive.

Distances
Garrucha Fishing town 3/4 mile, Mojacar Pueblo (Old town) 2 miles, Aqua-park (Vera) is 10 mins by car, Go-karting 5 Mins by car, Commercial Centre 5 mins by car. Cabo de Gata (Natural park) 12 miles, Sorbas caves 45 minutes drive. Nijar (for beautiful ceramics) is approx 30 mins drive.
There is a bus stop at the bottom of the hill which takes you to many places and gives you easy access to Mojacar/commercial centre/Garrucha and many other places.
Further details
Nearest supermarkets, banks, shops, bars are in Garrucha (3/4 mile). There are three four star hotels at the bottom of the hill and you are welcome to use the facilities there also there is entertainment in these hotels on a regular basis. Garrucha is a wonderful working fishing town with superb fish restaurants and is very famous for its prawns and has a very large market every Friday where you can buy leather, lace etc and its worth a visit. You MUST go to Mojacar Pueblo, a typical Spanish white-washed town with its quaint old cobbled streets and excellent restaurants serving local and international dishes and the views from the Plaza are to die for! It has a flea market every Sunday morning where you can purchase paintings, jewellery and antiquities. The Commercial Centre has many restaurants, shops and cafes. Places of interest in the area are Sorbas Caves (well worth a visit), Mini-Hollywood at Tabernas (where Spaghetti Westerns were made) and Carbonerras (a natural park and is renowned for its beauty).

Mojacar boasts a 17km beach and has an average temperature
of 20 degrees and sunshine for over 320 days a year.
It is probably the last unspoiled Spanish resort, without
high rise hotels and apartments and as such you can
always get a view of the sea and the mountains.
There are many bars and restaurants to suit all tastes
and the beach is never crowded due to it's size. Supermarkets
and shops are within 2km. Being of Moorish decent
there are many historic places to visit from buildings
to natural parks. Nearest airport is Almeria about
45 minutes, Alicante is 2 hours on good motorway.
Mojacar Village
 This
is a must to visit with it's Moorish architecture,
white walls and cobbled streets. There are fantastic
views as it sits atop a hillside remote from the Mojacar
sea front. Follow the narrow streets to the fountains
where locals collect the spring water, then sit at
one of the many bars and watch the sun set, have a
meal or try the Tappas.
Mojacar is an ancient Moorish village perched on the
foothills of the Sierra Cabrera Mountains overlooking
the Mediterranean coastline. This legendary town,
is aptly named and famous throughout Spain as El Rincon
del Embrujo, “The Corner of Enchantment”.
Visible from many miles away, the distinctive whitewashed
sugar cube houses stacked one upon another separated
by twisting cobbled streets, winding steps and old
arches, offer a surprise around every corner. Restaurants,
bars and art & craft shops lay waiting to be discovered
along with the hospitality of the friendly locals.
Although the town remains the same as it has for centuries, the relatively recent development of Mojacar Playa, a stretch of wide sandy beaches awarded the EEC blue flag for cleanliness, offers many of the features of a holiday resort including many fine restaurants, bars, hotels and shops catering for all tastes.
A short trip along the coast brings you to the mountain
coastline of the Cabo de Gata Nature Reserve, offering
secluded beaches and coves. Whether it is sailing,
fishing, bowling, tennis, golf or water sports that
takes your fancy or simply relaxing on an un-crowded
beach soaking up the sun - you'll find it all and
more in and around Mojacar.
Sports
As well as Golf the area boasts many sports, in Garrucha just 3km away at the marina you can book excursions for fishing trips, boat trips and jet ski's. Along Mojacar beach there is an area for wind surfing, banana boat rides, surfing etc. There are also areas where you can drive onto the beach with a picnic and not see another person. There is also walking and mountain bike riding available in the surrounding hills. Scuba diving lessons or dives are available at 3 different locations and horse riding is quite popular. Fishing is allowed from the beach in certain places with a local permit. Tennis is available on the golf complex approx. 2 minutes from the apartment.
Golf Information
The Marina de la Torre course is a par 72 - 18 hole course designed by Ramon Espinosa and is situated overlooking the beach. Nine of the holes give fantastic uninterrupted views of the mountains. The course has been built to a high standard and is very well maintained. There is a driving range, putting green and pro shop with all the usual services. Within a 15km radius of Marina de La Torre are 3 further courses - Desert Springs, Valle de Este and Cortijo Grande. So there you have it, a large beach, an abundance of sun, beautiful landscapes, tradition and of course golf.
