A group of enthusiasts decided to revive the club in the early 1970s but without funds or premises and with the cost of land at a premium it was a daunting task. Largely due to the generosity of the Harvey family of South Doddington and the tenacity of the steering committee, the present site on Dod Law was made available at a low rental.
Looking at the course today it is difficult to visualise the daunting task faced by those early members. As a result of their hard work a golf course was created out of rough terrain and natural moorland.

Wooler Golf Course is situated just off the B6525 Wooler to Berwick road at the village of Doddington, some 3 miles North-east of Wooler. This 9-hole, 18 tee, par 72 course occupies the high ground known as Dod Law.
With three par 3 and three par 5 holes the 6,411 yardage from the white tees offers a stern challenge to all classes of golfer, trying to match the SSS of 71.
The Ladies course approved by the LGU is 5071 yards, par 71 and is also played from 18 tees.
