Queen Victoria, who passed Tillicoultry by train on 20 June 1879, just after receiving the news of the death of the Prince Imperial, describes its situation "in a wooded green valley at the foot of the hills, as beautiful, reminding me of Italy and Switzerland".
The Course itself was founded in 1899 & re-located to its existing site in 1921. Its location is indeed set against a backdrop more reminiscent of the Swiss Alps. From its founding forebears Tillicoultry GC has matured into a spectacular, visually appealing and most testing golf course.
The course is very well maintained and of particular note are the courses 2 par 3 holes -neither of which is a pushover.

Tillicoultry GC is a stunning parkland course at foot of the Ochil hills entails some med/hard walking.
Although only a 9-hole course, this wee beauty will test every shot in the golfers repertoire.
The club prides itself on the friendliness of both its staff and members alike, all of whom are keen to ensure visitors have a thoroughly enjoyable outing to the course.
Well worth a visit!
The club is easily reached from Gleneagles and St Andrews (20 and 40 minutes respectively) as well as Edinburgh (40 minutes) and Glasgow (45 Minutes).

For 2008 the club is offering membership (gents & ladies) at £250 (normally £300) to NEW members only. A few places are still available (as at May 2008).
