Thorpeness golf course was designed by James Braid and built in 1922. It is a coastal heathland course offering a tough challenge to all levels of player. The course winds through silverbirch, pine trees, gorse and heather. The Sunday Telegraph Golfing Guide has been moved to describe the classic terrain as “Reminiscent of the inland glories of Sunningdale and Woodhall Spa” – and that is high praise indeed! The courses natural drainage ensures that it is playable the whole year round - no temporary greens.
