Coastal course with magnificent views over the Seven Sisters and Seaford. 18 holes, 5848 yards, S.S.S. 71. The course is moderately hilly until you reach the 10th green… then be prepared.
At this point, there is a long incline on the stroke index 1, 11th hole that will test most golfers stamina. The following 12th par 3 is a special hole, which also requires some fitness to climb to the blind green. A steady climb is then required to the 13th tee at which point the previous hard climbs prove worthwhile.
The views from the 14th fairway are marvellous, including the ‘Close Encounters Intergalactic Homing Station’, and the last hole is outstanding. A 489 yard highly elevated par 5 with downward sloping fairways, long hitters with the ever-present wind being behind them and with firm ground, can almost reach the green (no, really) ! Truly magnificent.
The club is unpretentious and our society has been made most welcome over the years. No dressing up for meals – indeed a delight if you are planning for a full day on this physically demanding course.
