An awful and rude welcome ! We were asked in the most humiliating way if we had golf shoes and the way we were spoken to by a young boy at the shop who did not even answer to us when we said 'good afternoon' was unacceptable, so we left and sent an email of complaint to the manager, we are still waiting for a reply ...

I have to say I played this course this weekend and it was shocking at best. The barren fairways and tight lies throughout the course leave you wondering where the £30.50 green fee is being spent. We have had a hot summer though I've played courses throughout the summer that have not had such arid ground conditions. I also agree with the previous reviewer, the club staff are very unfriendly and I wonder if the green fee is high simply because of the green belt millionaires row surrounding the course.

I am a high handicap golfer yet I am also knowledgeable of golf being a keen fan of the pro game and this course just doesn't set up well. Some of the holes are pretty and the greens overall are consistent and above medium pace but on the par 3's if you don't hit the green the lies are awful and this is true right across the course, in fairways and rough. Courses I've played for half this cost play better and the stuffy atmosphere of the club house shows the venue is stuck in the dark ages. Perhaps the course has had a hose pipe ban enforced and they are reluctant to tell anyone of that fact when taking your money. We were asked in the pro shop if we had golf shoes, which for me is a lack of respect for individuals who respect the very necessary rules of playing golf. To me that shows not a snobby but a draconian method of dealing with patrons. I won't be going back.

At £25 a round not worth the money being no more than a pitch and putt (7 iron and a putter) even for the high hanicap golfer coupled with the aggressive manner of the staff all adds up to a disappointment I should have really known better when the car park was empty on a lovely October day.
