GOLF CLUB REVIEWS

21/07/2003 - Sent by Richard Williams
They say this is Ian Woosnam's favourite course and it is easy to see why. The old course is an absolute stunner with the peninsula holes some of the best in Britain (in my view). The new course (or new holes) are less stunning and testing but still excellent. Brilliant greens and well kept. Reasonable rates for such quality. Watch out in high season, busy footpaths run along the fairway with walkers almost directly in the line of fire.

A great place to holiday - try out Abersoch as well whilst there. Also watch out for fog and driving rain!

OTHER INFORMATION
A unique 26 hole championship golf course; a view of the sea from every tee; eight holes played on the now world famous Old Course – The Point, sometimes described a North Wales’ Pebble Beach – a narrow peninsula with holes bounded on one side by secluded coves, rocky outcrops and the sea and on the other by a glorious stretch of sandy beach and a pub; a backdrop of the Snowdonia range to the east and, on a clear sunny evening, 57 miles away, the Wicklow mountains of southern Ireland to the West. Welcome to golf at Nefyn.

Nefyn is a golf course that can be enjoyed by golfers of every standard because in the case of so many of its holes, it invites the golfer to create the challenge – in a phrase, you do it the easy way or the hard way, the risk or reward is of one’s own making!

We’d like to take this opportunity to invite you to sample for yourself the delights of this beautiful golf course, its magnificent surroundings and the unrivalled hospitality of the Club’s members.
