My experience at Mill Ride is not a good one. I took up what I thought was temporary membership to try the course for 3 months. At the end of the period I decided not to continue, unfortunately they indicated that I had signed for the whole year and that I was due to pay the full fee. They use underhand tactics to sign you up. Be careful if you are considering joining. There is lots of small print so please take time to read it fully. Ultimately they were not prepared to discuss the matter and enforced the contract via court proceedings. They course is OKish but their business ethics are terrible.
If you are considering joining make sure you want to join for the entire period.
I have learnt a serious and expensive lesson

Played this course about a week ago, and have mixed feelings, generally the course is nice, it is well laid out and is a good test for every class of player. The one thing that really disappointed me was the quality of the bunkers, all of them had very little sand in them, and at least 4 of them adhd stones that were so big, that i didn't want to play out of them, because a), it would damage my club, and b), they could hurt me and my playing partners, it was like being on a shinggle beach! For a course that isn't cheap to play i would expect better bunkers. My local 3 par's bunkers are much better! Other small things, the 8th hole is tiny if not playing off the whites, it was about 85 yards when we played.

However the fairways and greens were in good condition, and generally it was a nice round. Would I pay full price again, no, personally I think Sandmartins which is a couple of miles up the road is better value for money.

Awesome, just Awesome. US style course, US style service. A very difficult challenge at 7000 yards with water covering 7 holes. Course record held by Ryder Cup Hero Paul McGinley. Exclusive members only, but guests welcomed when feasible for them to play.

OTHER INFORMATION
Combination of parkland and links style holes. Well placed lakes in play on many of the holes make strategy and correct shot selection a premium.
