In 1922 Cheltenham Glof Club leased 132 acres of land to the south of Cheltenham, including Lilley Brook Lodge, and renamed the Club Lilley Brook Golf Club after a tributary of the River Chelt which flows close by. The course was designed by Mr MacKenzie and included a cricket style pavillion. Today, Lilley Brook is still a traditional members club with the reputation of being one of, if not the best course in the county.
