CLUB HISTORY
Overlooking the incomparable Dreaming Spires of Oxford City and the Thames Valley; Hinksey Heights offers 27 holes, for golfers of all ages and abilities, who may Pay and Play or join as Members.

An opportunity for all to enjoy a game of golf in an area of outstanding beauty. An extensive area is provided for practice and tuition supported by a 9 hole academy course and a 9 hole Par 3 practice course.

The 18-hole course has been built as a series of interesting and different holes which reward the thoughtful golfer. On several holes you have challenging choices; whether to go for the greens and risk water, or to play safe!

Pay and Play visitors are welcome to enjoy the friendly and relaxing clubhouse and catering facilities 7 days a week. You are free to come and play, whether living locally, visiting Oxford for a break, or on business.

Clubhouse services are available to all.

Club Members can play socially and in competitions, within the club, or in local league fixtures. They can also join a variety of social occasions through the year.

The club became a members club in February 2013. Following some years on neglect the club is finally investing in making the main course a pleasure to play. Work is ongoing with both the drainage and irrigation systems as these are priorities. 2013 has been a year of transition with a greaty deal of hard work being put in to get the course back to the condition that such a beautifully laid out course deserves and 2014 should see a return to Hinksey being a great place to play and enjoy.
GOLF CLUB REVIEWS

04/10/2004 - Sent by Martin Rigby
Visited on my own on a Saturday morning, and sadly failed to pal up with anyone, so played as Billy Nomates. Having read mixed reviews, wasn't sure what to expect. The course was hilly and had a linksy feel about it. Lots of bunkers, few trees AND LOTS OF WIND. My golf from tee to green was fine (i'm off 15) but the small slopy fast greens really got the better of me. Two or three times I was near the green in regulation, but walked of with 6 or 7.

Was made welcome in the clubhouse afterwards and found the locals very keen to stress their pride in the club. All in all I thought this was a fairly good course, and likely to get even better with time. It wasn't the courses fault that my short game was so bad.

On behalf of my society group (Three Locks), who visited on Sunday 8th September, I would like to say how much we enjoyed our day at Hinksey Heights. We were made very welcome, the staff were helpful and courteous and the course proved a pleasant but worthy challenge for all who attended.
We may well wish to consider another occasion in the future.
Many thanks again.
