I have played Hill barn for many years and I have seen it in perfect and awful condition. At this time, under new ownership (Chichester GC) the course is in great condition, with a revamped clubhouse Hill Barn has at last arrived in the 21st century.
'The Barn' has a good mix of short and long par 4's and the rough is never fierce, however bunkers on the course always have a fair bit of chalk in them so 'beware'. Feature holes are the 6th, a RH dog leg (SI1) which will crucify you if you stray into the wooded quarry up the RH side of the fairway. The 8th (par4) which can be driven with a good straight drive (very satisfying if your card has taken a battering at the 6th) and the 11th a par 3 with an intimidating array of bunkers surrounding. I believe this is their signature hole. When you complete the 14th you have a bit of a climb up to the 15th tee, but the views(when you've used up your oxygen cylinder) are great. Downhill from here, 16th long(my favorite), 17 par3, if the tee is at the back then you could be reaching for the persimmon. and the 18th, the only par 5 on the course...all downhill and a good birdie chance. Hill Barn is well worth a visit, go on take a chance.

Downland course with a few trees but generally fairly open. Spectacular views over Worthing and the Channel so can be windy. 18 holes, 6224 yards. S.S.S. 70. Small practice area (balls not provided) and putting green.

Signposted on the roundabout at the top of Broadwater, Worthing on the A27.
