CLUB HISTORY
Designed by 5 times Open Champion John Henry Taylor, the course was opened in September 1911, the club being formed in April 1912. The course is very undulating and should prove a good test for golfers of all standards. The par 3 11th was rated as one of the toughest par 3s in England by no other than Henry Cotton, whilst the 15th, stroke 1, was rated by Peter Allis as one of the nicest holes he has played.
OTHER INFORMATION
A hilly parkland municipal course with lakes to cross, including the 12th, which requires a 183 yds carry across the water. Plenty of stamina is needed.
