Congratulations to Hart Common, I played here in a really well organised charity stableford event two years ago and the course is excellent with spectacular views over the Lancashire countryside. The clubhouse has a great atmosphere is very informal and relaxed and the staff are exceptionally friendly. (Excellent bacon sarnies too.) Unfortunately, like some of your other contributors, I too was disappointed with a following group of members (in golf buggies) who were very inconsiderate of our position on the fairway when they were teeing off, especially considering the nature of the event and the fact that they knew the course in front of us was packed with other competitors. These weren't young guys either, definitely seniors who should have known better. Relax guys count yourselves lucky you have such a well-prepared course and relaxed clubhouse and remember, it just isn't worth killing someone because you "just can't wait". If the secretary can sort out a few over-enthusiastic members then this place is a gem.

The course is in fantastic condition, the greens are still the best in the area. Even after all the very heavy rain recently it's still playing better than most places do in mid summer.

Played here on Sunday 4th oct 2009 I play here most weeks and there are ususally 3/4 of us Every week i play the course it seems to get better and the greens still look as though they have not been played on (big hand for the green keeper) Iwil definately be coming a member of this club.

Played Hart Common on Saturday 22nd August. Only my second eighteen hole game (just taken golf up three months ago). The course is great and looks as if it will get better on completion of the current improvement works. However, I may as well have spent my 15 on the driving range. My playing partner and I were told to 'get a move on' and were constantly pressured to hurry our game. At one hole, a ball dropped within 6 feet of us, as we were replacing the flag. On two holes we decided to pick our balls up and move to the next hole, just to relieve the pressure and stand a chance of enjoying at least a few holes. Basically, the round was ruined by snotty and unhelpful members and we were not made to feel welcome at all.
Get a life guys, you're not good enough to be that arrogant! The greens are fantastic but won't look good with blood spilt on them.

Just played hart common golf course and must admit i wasn't impressed at all. Don't get me wrong the course is in great condition, quite challenging and great value for money. My only gripe was the members that where playing behind us. They where just simply rude. Asking us to speed up even though there was a group of people in front of us. Then just kept teeing off while we was in the middle of the fairway. I was nearly hit by them on 2 or 3 occasions. This to me is unacceptable. I know that golf courses can be quite busy, but it was like a mad race to the finish. Ruined my day completely. Would i go there again? Mmmm not sure. If i could be guaranteed not to be near the clicky members, then maybe. I really got quite wound up by their impatience, and im sure the people in front weren.t impressed by having to rush aswell. First time i have ever done 18 hole course in less than 3 and a half hours. I don't know how i kept my cool and, didn,t wrap my 7 iron round their heads. They should be disgraced by their arrogance!!!!

I played here yesterday for the first time since the building works 2 years ago and wow, what a track. The layout is brilliantly challenging with a number of doglegs, strategically placed bunkers and blind drives so you need to play sensible golf. The fairways are still maturing and the tees are OK but the greens are some of the best I have ever played. This was a real shock to find on a municipal course but you'll be hard pushed to play on better greens. Don't be put off by the somewhat scruffy appearance of the pro shop. You really should try this.

When the rebuilding work is completed this will be up there with the best courses in the north west. Just have a look for John Greasly (course builders) and Simon Gidman (architect). I think you'll find they are about as good as you can get. Did they throw you off for joyriding in buggies by any chance?

a disgrace to golf. anyome connected to this club is to be avoided.......................

Parkland course on greenbelt land. Many water features. The 7th is the signature hole, a classic par 4 with water all down the left. 9-hole Academy Course also available. Something for every standard of golfer.
