CLUB HISTORY
Course founded in 1932, began as hardale golf club. Notable members include founder member John Mcinally who has two competitions run at the club named after him. John sadly passed away earlier this year in his 93rd year. Bobby Gibson or as he was affectionatley known MR HARBURN was a legend at the club winning the club championship on four occasions and winning the county championship twice, bob also sadly passed away this year and is sorely missed by all at the club. Mike KIrk whose records may never be surpassed won the club championship nine times in four different decades. Gary Stangoe although only a member for a few years certainly left his mark on the club by winning the prestigious lothians order of merit in 1992. One player who may some day get close to Mike KIrks records is Jim Gilmour who has now won the club championship four times three in the last four years during which time he has represented the lothians on numerous occasions and has manged to maintain a plus one handicap throughout this time. One young man who may go on to become a household name is 17 year old Michael Burnett who last year won the lothians boy championship and has recently managed to get his handicap down to scratch and is planning to go to the USA on a golf scholarship{watch this space}.
