CLUB HISTORY

Originally known as the United Services Golf Club and registered in 1905 as a nine hole course, this became defunct during the first world war. A new 18 hole course was designed by James Braid in 1919 and eventually became known as Gillingham Golf Club in 1965. The course was redesigned in 1986 by Donald Steele to accommodate the Northern Link Road. Land lost was replaced by Langton Playing Fields thus ensuring the clubs survival as an 18 hole course.
