CLUB HISTORY
Furness Golf Club can prodly claim to be the 6th oldest Club in England. Founded in 1872 by a dozen Scotsmen mostly from Dundee who came down to work in the new industries such as Flax and Jute Mills and the Barrow Shipbuilding Company.
The new Clubhouse was opened on 8th January 1916 by the Famous Harry Vardon the then Open Champion, who played exhibition games partnered by a well known amateur Allen Lincoln

Leave the M6 at junction 36 follow the A590 through the beautiful Southern end of the Lake District onto the Furness Peninsula, procede through the market Town of Ulverston.
