The Club was founded in 1909 when a nine-hole course was laid out on land rented from the city council and the lord of the manor, J. Atkin Waller of Pen Park. The Club became so popular that it was extended to eighteen holes in 1912 and a clubhouse built. The Clubs first professional, E. Crook, was engaged in 1911. It was not, however until 1979 that the Club was able to purchase the land on which the course sits

Filton boasts a superb rolling parkland course which is in top condition all year round. Measuring only 6174 yards this course is no push over. Claimed as one of the most difficult courses in the county. Filton is a real test for any level of golfer.

Our clubhouse provides excellent facilities. Comfortable and relaxing, it is very well-appointed internally with extremely good changing rooms with lockers for visitors. The bar, lounge and dining room are tastefully decorated and comfortable and look out onto the first fairway and the putting green. The food is excellent and offers good value whilst the range of liquid refreshment is extensive!

The Dining Room can be separated from the main Bar and turned into a Function Room. The room has its own bar facility and can be hired out for private parties or functions. If you are interested in hiring our clubhouse, please contact our functions staff on 01179694169. Why not consider taking out a social membership which would allow you to have full use of the clubhouse restaurant and take part in all social events at the club.

Played Filton last week and I cannot believe a golf course can be in such wonderful condition at this time of year. The greens putted like greens at the height of thier season, and the fairways were awesome.

I would recommmend to everyone in the area to visit and play there, as I am sure like many of you, my local club the course is not in very good condition at the moment. Well done to Filton's Green staff as they have a gem of a course and will be ocming back in May-June to play it again.

Filton is a well established course and so has the advantage of a number of mature trees and bushes which provide character to the course and make the golf more challenging.
