Set in 130 acres of the Cotswold countryside, the golf course at Feldon Valley is one of the most beautiful and peaceful inland courses in England. Designed by Ray Baldwin when Tom and Helen Taylor decided to bring golf to the Feldon Valley, the 6034 yard par 71 course sports fairways running through the landscape. Natural water hazards and the Sutton Brook meander around the course coupled with willow and oak trees which add to the charm of this mature setting.

As you arrive the first impression is how sweet it looks with the thatched buildings in front of you. The reception in the pro shop was excellent with the two professionals giving us all the help and advice to see us through the day. We arrived for an early tee on a Sunday to get out in front of the club players winter series.

The first was a long par 4 and it was well protected with fairway and green bunkers, you will do well to walk away witha 5 on the opener, most of the holes in the lower section had a degree of difficulty and the breeze plays an important part on this course. A long par 5 - 15th playing into the wind was really hard and you need three big hits to get to the green to secure a par. For the time of the year and the conditions the course played really well and was in good order. I will be returning again to challenge myself and colleagues.

On completion we went to the club house for refreshments, and got talking to some of the locals, on deciding what we wanted to eat we were pleased to be offered a full carvery dinner for less than 10 and it was exceptional, well worth the Sunday day out.

A beautiful setting for a gorgeous golf course. Challenging but not daunting. The first is a gentle 400 plus yard par 4 that offers a generous fairway but be careful as 4 bunkers guard the approach to the green. It gets better as you go on with Sutton Brook meandering through the course and providing a thought provoking round as it crosses 6 holes. Overall a great setting, great course and well worth the green fee.

Feldon Valley welcomes guests and visitors of all ages and abilities to play the course and relax in the Clubhouse where bar snacks are served using local produce. Sunday roasts are available at the weekend when booking is recommended. The Club has an active and friendly ladies and gents membership and welcomes all new members.
