Farnham Parks history dates back to the early 1900s when Wilberforce Bryant of Bryant and May (the famous match makers) sold the Stoke Park Estate to the Stoke Poges Land Company. The new owners built houses on Park Road and Church Lane, a new 18 hole golf course south of Park Road, and a 9 hole course on the north side of Stoke Road. Both were designed by the famous Harry Colt.
In 1928 Sir Noel Mobbs (Founder of The Slough Trading Estate) purchased the Golf Club from the Stoke Poges Land Company.
During the Second World War some of the holes were used agricultural land to grow barley and wheat.
In the late 1960s and early 1970s Sir Noel Mobbs transferred ownership of Stoke Park Memorial Gardens, The Manor House, Farnham Park Playing Fields and a proportion of the land that is now Farnham Park Golf Course, to the local authority via a private act of Parliament.
A year on from the transfer, the 9 hole course was restored, incorporating 7 of the original Harry Colt designed greens, tees and many original bunkers and mature trees. A clubhouse was built, and Farnham Park Golf Course opened on 10th March 1974.
In 1975 Beaconsfield Urban District Council (now South Bucks District Council) bought additional land to extend the 9 hole course and employed Hawtrees to undertake the design. Works commenced on extending the course in 1979 and the new 18 hole layout was officially opened with a Pro-Am Tournament in June 1982.
