CLUB HISTORY
Formally known as Farnham Park Golf Course, the course dates back to the early 1900s when Wilberforce Bryant of Bryant and May (the famous match makers) sold the Stoke Park Estate to the Stoke Poges Land Company. The new owners built houses on Park Road and Church Lane, a new 18 hole golf course south of Park Road, and a 9 hole course on the north side of Stoke Road. Both were designed by the famous Harry Colt.

In 1928 Sir Noel Mobbs (Founder of The Slough Trading Estate) purchased the Golf Club from the Stoke Poges Land Company.

During the Second World War some of the holes were used agricultural land to grow barley and wheat.

In the late 1960s and early 1970s Sir Noel Mobbs transferred ownership of Stoke Park Memorial Gardens, The Manor House, Farnham Park Playing Fields and a proportion of the land that is now The South Buckinghamshire Golf Course, to the local authority via a private act of Parliament.

A year on from the transfer, the 9 hole course was restored, incorporating 7 of the original Harry Colt designed greens, tees and many original bunkers and mature trees. A clubhouse was built, and the course under the name Farnham Park Golf Course opened on 10th March 1974.

In 1975 Beaconsfield Urban District Council (now South Bucks District Council) bought additional land to extend the 9 hole course and employed Hawtrees to undertake the design. Works commenced on extending the course in 1979 and the new 18 hole layout was officially opened with a Pro-Am Tournament in June 1982.

In 2012, the 18 hole course and the 9 hole course and 15 bay floodlit driving range joined forces to provide a complete golfing experience to meet the needs of golfers in the area. The two sites joined under the one name of ‘The South Buckinghamshire’.

Following the decision by South Bucks District Council to lend The Farnham Park Trust £1.98m to build a new golf clubhouse and green-keepers’ compound, a new clubhouse was designed by HLN Architects who also designed the Twenty-Ten clubhouse at the Celtic Manor which played host to the Ryder Cup in 2010, The clubhouse at The South Buckinghamshire is on smaller scale but features many of the stunning designs found at Celtic Manor, and was officially opened in July 2014 and supported by Sport England through its Inspired Facilities Fund the clubhouse carries the inspire mark celebrating the link to the London 2012 Games.

Confusing reviews...Farnham Park is only 9 holes in length? Longest hole is the 9th and thats 170 yards, most holes 100 yards in length with one more at around 140/150....driver????? Can be slow because all those folks who like the game but not enpought to join a club and work from there play here!! Saturday morning is the busiest period on any golf course!!

One of the best pay and play golf facilities i have ever played.
Not sure what the previous guy was on?! Played 18 holes at 10am last Saturday and got round in under 4 hours.
As a regular player here, his experience was definitely not a true representation of Farnham Park.
Would recommend the course to anyyone, and the staff in the proshop are very helpful indeed!

I'd avoid this club like the plague on a weekend. Played there yesterday, tee off was 9:20am, it took 4 hours to make it round to the 11th by which point i decided to walk off the course. So many hackers turn out here it's best advised to play pre 8am on a weekend, weedays are fine to play whenever.

really nice course short and narrow on the front nine (leave your driver in the bag) the back nine has some great holes in particular 11,12,15 ,16 and you have to have a go at the green on 18
