Garage Owner Peter Sjoberg (PMW) bought the land on the southern edge of Epping Town and designed the holes in the early 90s. His brother Neil, who had previously built simple courses for the YMCA, prepared the planning application and organised the volunteers. Under the watchful eye of father Charles Sjoberg (now sadly deceased), the wider Sjoberg family (who have a history of low handicap golfers based around West Essex Golf Club) have all contributed.
Each development stage has funded the next with the help of enthusiastic volunteers. The result is an exceptionally friendly venue with very low cost golf (see Green Fees) and high quality greens and fairways. The latest major project is the new clubhouse, which commenced in March 2002 and is on course for opening at Easter 2003
