I was a member of Woolston Manor as it is now known and found the course extremely hard work. It starts off tough, you need to cross water twice on the first hole and doesn't really get any easier. It is very well managed but the rough in some places is left to overgrow to almost impossible conditions and for high handicappers this is not the course for you. It is aimed for those that hit the ball a long way, so if you are good enough and want a reasonable challenge this course is for you as it will test your accuracy on literally every hole. Water is in play on more holes than it avoids and the bunkers are huge and engulfing. They play very much like american and I'm hoping they have changed the sand because for a good club the sandy lies were a wrist breaker. Nice club house and fairly decent but small pro shop. Although with an american golf centre in the nearby top golf centre you are a stone throw away from one of the best stocked golf shops in north east london.
