Crondon Park has improved dramatically through late 2006 and 2007. This now looks and plays like a proper golf course with nice fringes around the greens and fairway definition starting to take place. The bunkers still require some work but there is a program under way that should address this and the trees could do with a bit of thinning out. If the current progress is maintained Crondon Park will become one of the best looking courses in Essex and this aligned with the difficulty of the course would make it a welcome challenge to the lower handicapper.

I would recommend that you play the course between late Spring and Autumn as due to the clay base of the course it can become very muddy in the winter.

If you have played it before and were not impressed take another look. You will hopefully enjoy the improvements that have been and continue to be made. Take plenty of golf balls though because there is a lot of water on the course. Water can come into play on the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 18th and there are also a couple of ditches on the 1st, 3rd, 9th and 10th.

well worth a visit.

I played crondon park last week and could not believe how bad the condition of the course was,the mats for the tees were so muddy it looked like they have never been cleaned. The course was far to wet to be open for this time of year i spoke with a few of the members and they said its the only course that is open and had there greens still playing this time of year,i cant believe that members would even want to play a course that is in such bad condition and playing it will only make the course worse.I was tempted to join crondon but put off by the appaling condition and there was no green keeper in sight the whole day i was there.

Set in a parkland valley with trees, lakes and magnificent greens. Also has the longest hole in the country (655 yds) and a 9 hole par 3 course.

Off the A12, on to the B1007 towards Billericay
