At the beginning of the 16th century the site of this golf course was enclosed with the rest of Clandon Park by the Weston family who owed their position to the favour of Henry VIII.
You can see the boundaries of the enclosures in the flint walls, these are particularly visible along the right sides of the 4th and 5th fairway. It is possible that they were much higher in the past.
The Onslows by dubious methods and the considerable help of a regiment of Parliamentary cavalry obtained the estate in 1642 where it has remained ever since.
During the last few years several roman coins have been found and during construction there was evidence of an ever hopeful but geologically ignorant Bronze Age tin mine.
The quarry forms an integral part of 4 of our holes, namely the 13th, 14th, 15th and 17th. The chalk mined from this quarry was used as a major part in the construction of the Guildford bypass.

Time and value for money is of an essence in today’s world and Clandon Golf recognises this. The concept of Clandon Golf is to provide a high quality, easy access 9 or 18 holes golf experience as you the customer dictates. The course has been designed for all level of golfers. Clandon Golf is not your traditional golf club and therefore we have no membership base.
Also, unlike traditional golf clubs, we do not have a strict dress code recognising that casual elegance is part and parcel of today’s lifestyle. What we do demand is respect for our golfing environment and for the game of golf and its rules. Please replace divots on the fairways and pitch marks on the greens. Please also maintain a steady pace of play.
Bookings and payment can be made be made online through the web, via phone or on site in our office. All online payments are made at the time of booking through our secure transaction management portal. Once you have made your booking a confirmation booking email will be sent through to you. This will contain a unique booking reference. Please bring this with you when you come to play. Once checked in you can then go play golf.

Find us behind the Merrow Park and Ride on the A246 Epsom Road. Click on the ‘Get Directions’ link on the map to find then best way for you to get to us.
By Bus
Using the Merrow Park and Ride bus the 300. This has stops at Guildford bus station and the library. Departing every 20 minutes and stops at 7.30pm.
By train
Take a train to Guildford and then either a short taxi or the 300 bus.
