Notes For The Guidance Of Visitors
Burnham & Berrow is a Championship Course (situated 1 mile north of Burnham-on-Sea M5 - Junction 22) and is at all times a challenging test of golf to the experienced player and a stiff test to the occasional player. In the interest of maintaining the course in first class condition and to promote the enjoyment of all, players are particularly asked to observe the etiquette of the game, courtesy on the course and the care of the course. In addition it would be appreciated if the following points could be brought to the notice of your Society Players:
1. Visitors:
a) Visitors will be accepted on the championship course provided they are members of a recognised golf club and carry handicaps no greater than 22 for gentlemen and 30 for ladies.

b) To ensure compliance with the appropriate statute you are required to furnish the Club Secretary with a LIST OF NAMES AND ACCOMPANY THIS WITH HANDICAP CERTIFICATES AT LEAST 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF YOUR VISIT. We reserve the right to refuse visitors the use of the course and clubhouse facilities if this is not received.
2. Play on the Course:

a) The Course is reserved for members only until 9.45a.m. on weekdays and also between 12.30p.m. and 2.00p.m.

b) Visitors are not accepted before 2.30p.m. on Saturdays and there are a limited number of times available on Sundays. The only exception to this rule is golfers staying in the Dormy House.

c) FOURBALL GAMES ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE COURSE BEFORE 1.00P.M. ON ANY DAY.

d) Slow play destroys the enjoyment of many golfers. Visitors are requested to maintain a reasonable pace - as a guide a fourball should take a maximum of 4 hours to complete the course. Players are requested to watch the pattern of play in front and behind their own game and to give way if they are holding up the match following theirs.

e) Strict adherence to starting times is requested and visitors should play from the Yellow Tees.

f) No practice swings should be taken on teeing grounds and please replace divots, repair pitchmarks and smooth bunkers after use.

g) Tailored shorts may be worn with knee length socks. The use of mobile telephones is prohibited on the course.

3. Any green fees, which include VAT, for the round or day should be paid to the steward at the bar before commencing play. Please contact the Secretary for more details on green fees and available packages.

4. Clubhouse:

a) Jackets and ties (or suitable neckwear) must be worn in the clubhouse after 7.00p.m. although a relaxation may be authorised in periods of warm weather. At all times a reasonable standard of dress must be maintained.

Specifically excluded from public rooms are spiked shoes, rubber studded shoes, training shoes, jeans, protective rainwear, shorts and mobile telephones.

b) Menus can be forwarded in advance and we should be grateful if you would kindly inform us of your requirements at least a week in advance of your visit. Numbers should be confirmed 48 hours in advance of the visit and catering will be charged for this number.

We look forward to welcoming you to Burnham & Berrow Golf Club and hope you have a most enjoyable day.

All prices quoted above should be checked with the Secretary at time of booking.
