CLUB HISTORY
Course founded in 1921 as a 9 hole course and extended over the years to 18 holes. Dai Rees winning Ryder Cup captain of the 1950s learnt his golf at Brynhill when his father was professional at the club. In recent years has provided a number of Welsh internationals and Tour proffesionals. The most noteable in recent years STEVEN DODD European Tour proffesional and Tour winner and ex British Amateur Champion and winning Walker Cup representative. BOB HOPE ( who once lived in Barry) opened the new club house in 1983 and was granted life membership.
OTHER INFORMATION
A picturesque and testing parkland course with tree lined fairways, ponds and other water hazards covering some 177 acres with 22 acres of protected woodland and the remains of an 11th Century Church. Situated at the outskirts of Barry in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan with views from the Bristol Channell to the Breacon Beacons.
