GOLF CLUB REVIEWS

29/06/2004 - Sent by Paul Hagerty
Brocton Hall is a well established 18-hole course perfect for the mid-range handicapper. The challenges are a mixture of wide open, big driving holes and some tighter holes needing accuracy and finesse.

There are no par-5s but the 6th hole is the longest measuring 475 yards on competition days, and two good hits are required to reach the green on a windy day.

The 9th is an excellent example of the accuracy holes - a par 3 with a trout lake to the left and a stream all the way round.

The fairways and greens are always in excellent condition due to the easy draining soil and the walk around this beautiful established Harry Vardon designed course is a joy (regardless of the quality of play!)

OTHER INFORMATION
A parkland course with gentle slopes in places, easy walking. Mature trees and attractive water features combine to provide a searching test of golf. The club house is an ancestral home dating back to 1760.
