CLUB HISTORY
The Bearwood Estate was, until recently, part of Windsor Great Park the hunting grounds of the Kings of England since the 11th century. In the Mid 19th century the estate was acquired by John Walter III, Founder of the Times newspaper. In 1860 he built the magnificent mansion that can be seen across the lake from the 14th tee.
The Club was opened in 1996 by David Newling Ward and his partner Ray Wilson (Southern Golf).
OTHER INFORMATION
Recognised as the finest inland course to be built in England since 1990, Bearwood Lakes is eminently playable and rewarding with many exciting challenges from all tees. The course was designed by Martin Hawtree, the third generation of a family of golf course architects.
SPECIAL OFFERS
Day Membership was launched in 2007 allowing non-members to enjoy this fabulous private members course and facilities between Monday and Thursday.
