My 'home' course and I love it! It has undergone many improvements with regard to the standard to which fairways, greens etc. are kept in the last few years and the whole experience has benefitted greatly from this. The course is a mix of woodland and parkland, with most of it situated on the side of Ashurst Beacon, so be prepared for an undulatng walk. The variety of holes and the accuracy required to make a good round make this a very challenging course, and often the best tactic is to play short and accurate rather than for out and out distance.
If you get the chance, play this course. It's a bargain at 10 and you will not be disappointed - a superb course all round!

I stumbled across this course on the internet trying to find a course open with this diabolical weather we have been having of late, what a corker of a course, even in these bad conditions (weather) the course is remarkable, it's quite hilly in places but well worth the walk. The outstanding views will take your mind of the hilly conditions. Highly Reccommended.

Don't be put off by the location adjacent to Skelmersdale. This has to be the best value course this side of the Scottish border. 9.50 for 18 immaculate holes and greens!! Quite long, challenging, but leafy and pretty; the view from the last few holes at the top takes in the North Wales hills, the whole of Liverpool and Blackpool Tower. Quite hard walking along the side of a hill.

Thoroughly recommended, and the bar serves Theakstons.

An undulating/ hilly parkland course, with magnificent views of the Welsh hills,. Twenty-four-bay floodlit driving range. Conference facilities available.

Once you are heading towards Upholland follow the Signs for Beacon Country Park, its on the same road (approx 1 mile further)
