CLUB HISTORY
Established in 1930, this 18-hole undulating parkland course is located in the grounds of Allestree Hall within Allestree Park. The higher points of the course allow picturesque views across rural Derbyshire. The course offers a challenging test of golf with the trees, which line the fairways, ready to catch the wayward shot! All in all a fantastic test of skill and an enjoyable day out.

  FANTASTIC COURSE!!!

Holes to look out for:

3rd

A stunning long par 4 measuring 446, overlooking north Derby towards Little Eaton and Duffield, with the rolling hills and beautiful scenery you will not want to leave the tee!. The hole is all downhill and has forgiving fairways with the only trouble being found on the right, the green is elevated and has a shear drop on the left hand side of the green. Advanced golfers may want to check the pin position before belting a drive down as if the pin is on the right hand side of the green the best angle is from the left side of the fairway as the bank on the right of the green will block the pin.

12th

A genuinely tough par 5 hole which is 540 yards uphill and all uphill. This hole is stroke index 1 making it the toughest hole on the course. It is now a straight hole as it originally was a dog-leg left hole playing from (what is now) the 11th tee. This hole normally plays into the wind so if your playing for a par, be sure to get out those woods!!!.

13th

A hole which used to have two trees situated where the bunkers on the fairway are, this hole is most members favourite as the short (slight) dog-left left offers some much needed relief after the gruelling 12th. But beware of the two bunkers, a nice drive in between the bunkers will leave a short iron left, but don't overdo it as there are bushes around the back of the green to catch any over-hit shots.

15th

A hole which some of our members feel should be given the stroke index 1 as it requires some very accurate driving, as if the ball is hit on the right side of this dog-leg right hole you will be blocked out by the large tree by the green, virtually guaranteeing you missing hitting it in regulation. Whereas if the ball ends up on the left hand side of the fairway, the shot to the green is lengthened but you will have a clear shot at the green
