From the M5 junction 11A, head towards Cirencester on the A417. Leave the A417 at the first junction (signposted Birdlip). Turn right onto the A46 and head towards Stroud. Painswick is about 6 miles further down.
Approaching Painswick on the A46 from the north, watch out for Golf Course Road on the right, on a tight bend half a mile before the village. If you overshoot, dont worry - continue to the village and take the first right into Gloucester Road and approach the clubhouse from the other end of Golf Course Road.
If you are approaching Painswick on Gloucester Road (B4053), watch out for a turning on the left where the golf club is signposted. This is the first turning left past the turning to Painswick Beacon.
